There’s a great art project starting in Hamilton this week called Ready Steady Gallop, artists from around the area were commissioned to design and paint giant Clydesdale horse sculptures which will be displayed all around the Hamilton area.

I was lucky enough to see all the fantastic designs when artist Jenny Haytch asked me to assist her with the painting of her horse Angus Chan (who you can see me painting in the pictures here). It’s Jen’s design and she laid out the pattern and painted him, I just helped out with some of the fiddly painting areas to help her to meet the deadline, as we discovered that it takes a while to paint an entire horse!

Jen has done a fantastic job on Angus, and went straight on to painting a dolphin after this for a similar project in Aberdeen (Wild Dolphins). To see more of this and Jen’s fantastic (and often hilarious) illustrations, you can find her online here:
